Taiwan tidbits pt. 3

The 7 eleven stores in Taiwan are like trees in the forest, they sell many stuffs like sandwiches, salads, hot and cold noodles, tea eggs, breads and so on......

Slurpee

Heineken in J-mart (TaoYuan).

If you have a member's card you can buy the stuffs there at a lower price, the shop is also open to non-members. J-mart is like a mini SM department store. They have many frozen products which you can just pop in the microwave and eat. Adjacent there is Hi-Mart where you can shop for clothes at reasonable prices.

Heart shaped chips, bought in J-mart.

Strawberry milk tea, it does taste good and you can choose from many flavors and brands.

I bought mini waffles at the street, a set of spongebob characters and I only got to take the pic of gary the snail  because my nephews are so excited to eat them all.

Cold coffee bought at 7 eleven, taste even better than starbucks at a way cheaper price.

White tiger at Liu Fu Chun Theme Park

Hot shrimp salad at a Thai restaurant in Taiwan

Halo-halo Thai style (milk, crushed ice, different beans and gelatin) I just topped it with taro ice cream

Napoli at Tai Mall

Juices for 10 to 15 NT each, these are not like the Big250 or Zesto here in the Philippines. The ones in Taiwan comes in many unique flavors and the sizes are big so you really get to enjoy drinking.

The train ride in Liu Fu Chun is an open ride where you will get to see animals being fed. I remember seeing kangaroos, peacocks, hippos, giraffes, ducks, wild goats, sheeps, llamas and I can't recall the names of the other animals there haha.

This is a 360 degree ride which I didn't try because I'm afraid to get dizzy and not enjoy the other rides there.

This theme park is a must visit in Taiwan. I have really not taken decent pictures here because it was freezing cold at the time for it was December when I went there.
But still I enjoyed and screamed at the free- fall ride and the other rides too.

Remember Jogoya? Most restaurants in Taiwan have hotpots and grills, I'm not really into hotpots but my companions are. Luckily Jogoya offers much more than hotpots. Here's a sneak peek at the food I ate. Salad, soup, sweet & sour and all sorts of meat like beef, chicken, pork.

The specialty in this restaurant is their snow king crab cooked in a hotpot, sadly the second time we went there it was not available. And the alternative to the crabs was these big shrimps.

Desserts I super like, the yellow one is like a leche flan... cream puff and tiramisu with truffles

Pizza hut has eat all you can, they also offer salads, soups, pastas and desserts

Green pudding with Adzuki beans

Other than meat the pizza's has toppings like cabbages, boiled eggs, squids, sesame seeds......

My choice of Hotel in Cebu

I made reservations through their website, also made use of their live chat and e-mailed with their reservations officer. They answered my queries well, but it will take maximum 24 hours before they get back to you. If you are lucky enough they will e-mail you right back.

Took me about 30-40 minutes taxi ride from Mactan international airport. And it costs around PHP 250. It's a wise decision to ride the metered taxi in the airport when you are not familiar in Cebu. The flag down rate is PHP 70.00 then PHP 4.00 every 300 meters.

Quest Hotel Cebu address: Archbishop Reyes Avenue, Cebu City, Philippines. Very near Ayala mall.

Lucky for me I got to avail their promo rate of PHP 2,400 for a twin deluxe room with buffet breakfast.
They got free wi-fi access in the rooms and pool area. The wi-fi code is given with the room card key.
Good selection of TV channels.

Some of the breakfast choices I can still remember while I was there:
Fried Danggit
Longganisa
Fried rice
Sunny side up
Omelet
Cream Dory
Salad bar
Molo soup
Chicken Congee
Cereals
Fruits: Watermelon (red and yellow)
           Pineapple
           Papaya
Beverages : Orange Juice
                   Mango Juice
                   Fresh Milk
                   Brewed Coffee
Different breads, I like the croissant and pancake the most. Topped with butter, maple syrup, strawberry jam or blueberry jam. Crackers, cheese, muffins...etc

Would have been perfect if they had Hot chocolate noh?

The bathroom, with toiletries like: cotton buds, cotton pads, shower cap and sanitary bag.
Two towels and two face towels.
Toilet tissue and facial tissue.
Mini soap, bath gel and a 2in1 shampoo conditioner in a small tube.
Hot and cold shower.

The bed lamps

Safety box and Mini Bar located in the sliding closet

Mini Bar

If you look close enough on the headboards you will see this tiny designs.

My room was on the 9th floor, it has two big windows covered by curtains. One view is the picture seen above, while the other is the view of the half side of the pool area on the 7th floor. And why did I say half? because the other half area below is where I can directly see the air conditioning system of the building.

Hotel complimentary: bottled water by nature's spring, lipton tea bags and coffee.

The puso restaurant, where one could also find their bar/ lounge. The chairs are very comfy to sit on because they are soft and big, just like the sofas in the lobby area.

The 8th floor with patios.

See me swimming?
The main pool is only 4 feet high, and the kiddie pool is 2 feet high.
The pool water is not irritating to the eyes, the water temperature is relaxing not too cold nor warm.
Towels are given after you sign in your room number in a log sheet.
Listen to the instrumental songs while you relax and dip in the pool.
The pool bar is not yet operational but you can order food from the hotel resto/bar and consume it at the pool lounge. They also offer grilled foods cooked right there at the pool area.
I would have been nice if they have big umbrellas for people to cover up when the sun is high. The shower area is clean and well-lighted.

And here is my bed =) The bed would have been perfect if the split type air con doesn't drip on it sometimes and if the little glossy green pillow be bigger so I can hug it to sleep.

I would rate my stay 8 out of 10. The price is just right, I hope they will have many other promos.
Quest hotel in Cebu makes me feel at home. Most of the staffs are courteous and helpful.

Back from Cebu

I just got back from a wonderful trip to Cebu from May 25 to 28, 2012. I will make a review of the Hotel where I stayed soon.
Had a delayed Cebu Pacific flight back home, but no worries it was delayed for only 20 minutes.

I really enjoy travelling and so fascinated to airplanes simply because they are big heavy, can accommodate so many people and it FLIES, I mean it's so amazing you can see the clouds, the sun, other flying planes, the lightning and experience turbulence once in a while and most importantly it takes you to far far places.
